Last Captive Tucuxi dies

The last remaining captive Tucuxi Dolphin (Sotalia fluviatilis) has died at Delphinarium Münster. The over 40-year old animal called Paco was loved by many and was truely unique.

Ras died at Dolphin research center

Loro Parque Trainer dies after hit by Orca

Loro Parque is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the trainer Alexis Martinez Hernandez, 29, last Thursday, when he trained in one of the pools. The incident was described as a 'hit' or 'collison' with a whale. The cause of death drowning. The whale that was involved is believed to be either Tekoa or Keto.

Beluga Nico Died

Georgia Aquarium officials say a beluga whale has died unexpectedly while on a temporary stay at Sea World in San Antonio.

Greg Bossart with the aquarium said Monday that Nico, a 25-year-old beluga, died Saturday morning. He was scheduled to return to Atlanta in mid-December after renovations on the beluga habitat at the Georgia Aquarium are complete. Bossart said an initial necropsy was inconclusive on what caused the death.

He said veterinarians are running more tests to determine why Nico died.

The whale came to Atlanta in 2005 from a Mexico City facility. Bossart said the whale had intestinal and other medical problems dating back to his time in Mexico but seemed in good health recently.

The aquarium has two other belugas staying at Sea World until work is complete on their home in Atlanta.

Porpoise Jerry Released

Amazon River Dolphin Birth in South America

Penelope a boto living at the Acuario de Valencia in South America has given birth. The father of the calf is not known.

"Patra", in her 4th month of pregnancy, disappeared on Oct 01 2009. at Utrishskiy Dolphinarium.

Ever since the struggle for ownership dolphins have died/disappeared. In June, the dolphin Baikal died, Egor suffers in a shallow basin and Kolya dies with less than six months.

Prince Alexander dies

a Beluga whale named 'Prince Alexander' died at Shenzhen Seaworld Meisha Polar Ocean World. Prince came to the park in 2008 and was weak from the start. Vets did everything to save the whale but despite their care he passed away September 27.
