Gambit

Gambit is a male Bottlenose Dolphin
that lives at Ushaka Marineworld.
He is the biggest captive Bottlenose Dolphin.


Carolina Snowball

Carolina Snowball was an Albino Bottlenose Dolphin
that lived at Miami Seaquarium.


Lilly Champagne

Lilly was a 'blonde' dolphin
living at Marineland Florida.
her strange color was due to a rare
recessive genetic trait.
They also kept another blond dolphin named
'Rusty'


Haruka

In 2006 a four-finned Bottlenose Dolphin was
found in Japan. In the womb dolphin embryo's develop
extra hind limbs, but they disappear again in a later stage.
Haruka currently lives at Taiji Whale Museum.

Deformity.


Ayla

Ayla was a Bottlenosed Dolphin suffering
from scoliosis. She lived at Minnesota Zoo.


Yoanna

Yoanna is a dolphin with a deformed beak
due to a operation of her jaw. She lives
at Dolphinarium Varna.


Somers

Somers broke his jaw at a young age
it could heal but the pressure of the water against
the rostrum when he swam caused a deformity.
He lives at Dolphin Quest Hawaii.


Anke

Anke broke her jaw.
it could heal but the two ends point
each to another side. This means her
beak is always open. Seaweed grows inside
her beak occasionlly and when she jumps
a spurt of water can be seen flying from it.
She lives at Dolfinarium Harderwijk in The Netherlands.

Amputations.


Winter

Winter lives at Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
at only three months of age, she found herself wrapped
tightly in a crab trap line and was unable to escape.
Unfortunately, Winter lost her entire tail as well as two vertebrae
a result of the serious injuries that she had sustained.


Fuji

Fuji, a bottlenose dolphin in the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Japan,
lost 75% of her flukes to a mysterious disease in 2002.
she reached the news worldwide for receiving her artificial tailfluke.


Helen

Helen, approximately 17 years old, was discovered with partly
amputated pectoral fins as she was brought to Vancouver Aquarium
She was rescued from being entangled in a fishing net in Japan.


Nika

Nika is a female dolphin at L`Oceanographic in Valencia
she has parts of her fluke cut off by the propellors of
a boat.


Name Unknown

This male dolphin at L'Oceanographic in Valencia
has the tip of his pec cut off. The reason is unknown.

Shark Attacks and
other severe injuries.


Tuffy

Tuffy was a female dolphin who was survivor
of a shark attack. She spend some time
at the navy and later Seaworld.


Stormy

Stormy was a male dolphin who
lived at Mystic Aquarium after surviving
a shark attack.


Nari

Nari rehabilitated at Sea World Gold Coast
after a severe shark attack. After surgery
he was succesfully released back into the wild.


Nicholas

Nicholas stranded with his mother who did
not survive. He had severe burns all over his body.
he was named Nicholas because he came in on Christmas Eve.
Nicholas currently lives at Clearwater Marine Aquarium.


Lorena

Lorena is a female dolphin living ta Selwo Marina
in Spain. She has a large scar from a shark attack on her body.


Lala

Lala is a female dolphin living at Madrid Zoo.
she is another shark-attack survivor.

Keikamalu

Keikamalu is the result of a False Killer Whale
who mated with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
She lives at Sealife Park Hawaii.


Kawili'Kai

Kawili'Kai is the result of Keikamalu
(False Killer Whale x Bottlenose Dolphin ) mating with
a bottlenose dolphin. She is 3/4 dolphin and 1/4 whale.


Bullet

Bullet is the result of a Short-beaked Common Dolphin
who mated with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
She lives at Seaworld San Diego.


CJ

CJ is the result of a Short-beaked Common Dolphin
who mated with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
he is Bullet's halfbrother and lives at Discovery Cove.


Aries

Aries is a backcross of CJ who mated
with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
he lives at Discovery Cove.


Bao

Bao was the first hybrid in the world
between a Rough-toothed Dolphin
and a Bottlenose Dolphin.
He lived at Sea Life Park in Hawaii.


Kuri-Chan

Kuri-Chan was the first hybrid in the world
between a Risso's Dolphin
and a Bottlenose Dolphin.
She lived at Enoshima Aquarium in Japan.


Purine

Purine is the result of a Risso's Dolphin
mating with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
She lives at Beachland in Japan.


Raisu

Raisu was the result of a Risso's Dolphin
mating with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
He lived at Hakkeijima Sea Paradise in Japan.


Pop

Pop is the result of a Pacific White-sided Dolphin
mating with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
She lives at Shinagawa Aquarium in Japan.


Mint

Mint is the result of a Pacific White-sided Dolphin
mating with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
He lives at Marine World Umino Nakamichi in Japan.


Marron

Marron is the result of a Pacific White-sided Dolphin
mating with a Bottlenose Dolphin.
She lives at Marine World Umino Nakamichi in Japan.
